Thanks, stats nowhere near as damning for Arthur as you suggested.

I personally thought the whole team played well yesterday, including Vlasic.

Thought he held the ball up well gave us an outlet from defense, laid off some nice balls, put it about a bit, was busy.
Considering he’s not our first choice striker and that he was playing against City who boast some world class players I thought he put in a good shift.

He has definitely improved since he’s been here….. I think he’s coming along and expect him to get even better the more he plays.

He’s been with us for 5 mins ffs!

We probably overpaid but not by much.
He will be a big piece to our success this year and yesterday’s result is an example of it.

I get he's been injured, but Masuaku frustrated the fuck out of me last night. Needs to remember that just because he danced through a couple of Spurs players a few years back, it don't make Lionel fucking Messi.

Manuel and El Scorchio,

You are both right. It IS concerning but there is a likelihood that he'll have his 'Fornals moment' When he jumps from being a good player to being a good Premiership player, capable of keeping up with the squads tempo.

Bringing the price tag in doesn't change that.

El Scorchio’s post was clearly not contrary enough for Manuel’s liking.

El Scorchio 2:45 Thu Oct 28

A proper cliche ridden, matter of fact post, that.

It's true that he most likely needs more time, but for a 30 mil player who has played in the PL before and who has played in big matches for his country, he should be looking better than what he currently does. No doubt. All we can do is hope he comes good, but there are no guarantees at all that he will.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread - Carabao Cup
Vlasic needs time. Moyes clearly understands that and is quite good at doing this for all the players who have come from another league/division. Bring them in slowly rather than chuck them in the deep end (like Pellegrini did to Fornals) Fornals is a good example on how players need time to develop, as well. It's worked with everyone so far, so I don't see why it won't work with Vlasic. We just need to be patient with him and not give him a hard time from the stands while he's still figuring it out.

We are lucky to be in the position (thanks to Moyes' squad building) that we don't have to chuck anyone in at the deep end at the moment. He didn't have this luxury with Soucek, but he adapted extremely quickly. Not all players can.

I've seen enough of Masuaku live to know what he's about.

I don't make the STATS though. If you don't like the STATS because they don't back up your claim, then you should take it up with the nerds who produce them.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread - Carabao Cup
I've seen nothing to get excited about Vlasic... YET.

But I keep getting told that spending that money on a striker would have been a mistake.

Did you go to the game? or many games? Arthur clearly has a terrific touch if you've seen him live many times. Last night there were several when playing it tight down the line with Cress. And he brought down a cross terrifically in the 2nd half.

Id love to see the link to 'lost the ball through bad ball control' though i didnt realise that was a thing! Be interesting to see what else is covered? Id say he loses the ball far more to him being thick as shit and choosing shit decisions than his dribbling or control. Like last night when we burst forward he had options, didnt choose any and just ran into their bloke and lost the ball. Stats might say shit dribble, whereas he should of chose one of his options before that.
